Nickel Slag Grit

Description

Nickel slag grit is a special granular product with sharp edges. The granules bear irregular shapes, thus having an increased toughness and a specific weight. These special properties allow the abrasive grit to provide excellent performances in blasting metallic surfaces and in cleaning brick or stone surfaces. On the same time, the product may be used in civil engineering works and in special operations such as monument or patrimony building restoration. This is a high quality product, with special properties for cleaning surfaces of rust, old paint layers, crusts, impurities, and for preparing surfaces for subsequent anti-corrosion treatments: applying new paints, primers, etc. The raw material used in this abrasive grit is pyro-metallurgical dross, obtained by melting the laterite ore in electric furnaces. From a chemical point of view, it is an iron- silicate composite material, comprising small quantities of aluminium, calcium and magnesium. The dross resulted from the pyro-metallurgical process is later cooled down with water and then, it is granulated. The product obtained this way is transported and processed in special installations, where it is brought to its final form and packed. Our company's expert technical team will be happy to assist you.

Application Areas;

Nickel Slag Grit suitable for blasting steel and stone / concrete surfaces, cleaning mill residue, rust, old paint, dirt and similar surfaces. It provides SA-3, SA-2½ and SA-2 surface sandblasting standards. Nickel slag grit is used for cleaning surfaces made of steel, removing paint coathings, rust and residue.
